Hills View Mountain Villa is located at Datu Salumay Village, Davao-Bukidnon Highway (BUDA), Marilog District, Davao del Sur. It is an exclusive rest house built on top of the mountains with a very relaxing scenery overlooking the wonderful view of nature. With its breezy air blowing around all the corners of the place, you'll never feel the heat of the sun kissing your skin. The whole scene is naturally mesmerizing!
The best spot especially for short travellers is the veranda where you can do sightseeing over the clouds and take photos with instagrammable backgrounds. I suggest, if you're travelling for a daytour only, you must be at the place early in the morning for the best captures with the clouds. There are also plenty of tables and couches where you can relax and even dine as well. Yet, if you're a budget traveller, I recommend to bring your own food since theirs is a bit expensive and besides, there's no corkage. Think about paying Php25 for a cup of rice, another Php25 for a sunny-side up and Php80 for a can of corned beef. Haha!
From Davao City, take a bus at Ecoland terminal bound for Bukidnon or Cagayan de Oro and stop at Barangay Datu Salumay in Marilog District. You'll see plenty if signages along the way so you'll be guided somehow. Look for the signage that reads "To Hillsview". You'll also know if you're nearly approaching the place when you reach the huge Philippine Eagle sculpture in Barangay Bayanihan. The Villa is just several minutes from that landmark and a few kilometers before reaching Seagull Mountain Resort. It normally takes 2 hours travel at Php175 bus fare.
From the highway, take a 15 to 20-minute ride with a habal-habal or skylab going to the villa. The fare is normally ranged at Php120-150 (one way) depending on the driver's offered rate and your haggling skills. If you're on private cars or motorcycles, then make sure that your vehicles can manage the bumpy ride.
Entrance fee is as low as Php50 for a fantastic view. You can also rent the whole second level of the house overnight at Php6,000 good for 15 pax (excess person is charged at Php100 per head) so you'll be going to catch the beautiful sunrise on the next morning. But take note that you are not paying to make the whole place exclusive so you must expect other tourists coming in and out of the villa. I suggest you must be up as early as 5:00am for a best shot. Check-in time is 1:00pm and check-out is at 11:00am the following day. A videoke can also be rented at Php400 to complete your escapade.
